Description
Propaira SPF50+ Sunscreen with Niacinamide
The term “SPF (Sun Protection Factor) UVA/UVB Broad Spectrum” used on sunscreen labels represents UVB protection but has less emphasis on UVA Protection from a regulatory point of view.
There is currently no standardised way to measure degrees of UVA protection in Australia.
However UVA rays form 95% of the terrestrial UV rays while UVB rays form only 5%. Unlike UVB rays, UVA rays exist even in cloudy weather and can penetrate windows. Furthermore UVA rays penetrate the skin deeper than UVB.
More recently identified is the role of UVA rays in causing skin cancer alongside UVB rays. UVA rays also have a major role in developing premature skin ageing and pigmentation.
Propaira SPF50+ Sunscreen has very high UVA protection as well as very high UVB protection for further protection.
