Many women and men are looking for help in the neck area to tighten skin that has begun to sag. Skin Needling is a great and effective treatment for that.

How Does Micro Needling Work?

cells

By creating microscopic channels in the epidermis, your body registers that it’s been injured and starts to heal itself. Collagen and elastin are rushed to the area, where they then rejuvenate your skin. After the initial treatment, patients often notice that their skin has a healthy pink glow and that fine lines are diminished.

Skin naturally takes roughly four weeks to synthesize new collagen, but it is not until about four months that patients can see the full effect of this treatment. It is suggested that patients receive 3-6 treatments, spaced at least 2-4 weeks apart for maximum benefits.

These superficial micro-channels also allow topical gels, creams and serums to be absorbed more effectively into the skin. Specific treatment products can be selected to achieve accelerated results.

Cairns Clear Skin uses high end clinical products such as:-
Hyaluronic serums
Lightening for pigmentation
Stem cells and growth factors to multiply new young cells
Vitamin C for strengthening and antioxidant boost

What should I avoid Prior to Treatment?
Use of tanning beds or unprotected sun exposure for 2 weeks.
Medications containing Retinoid or Vitamin A derivatives for 1 week.
Use of NSAIDS, such as Ibuprofen, Aspirin for 1 week.
Skin infections, i.e. fever blisters, fungal or bacterial, should be fully resolved for 1 week before treatment.
If you have a history of cold sores, pre treatment may be recommended.
It is recommended to wait 2 weeks after Botox or Dysport or Filler injection treatments before the skin needling can be done.
If you have had IPL, Lasers and Laser Resurfacing it is recommended to wait 1 month between these treatments mentioned and the Micro Needling session for best results.

How Many Treatments Are Needed?
A series of 3-6 monthly treatments is recommended to give the skin a firmer more overall refreshed appearance.
This will depend on one’s issue and desired outcome.

What should I expect?
During the session, the skin needling is slightly uncomfortable. We provide patients with a topical anaesthetic numbing cream that will be applied prior to treatment.

Patients should expect to be very red the day of and the day after a Micro Needling treatment. Depending on the depth of the skin defect, you may see only redness or you may experience some pinpoint bleeding which stops almost immediately.

We recommend scheduling two days of downtime and staying out of the sun. For example, you can schedule your appointment on Friday and use the weekend as downtime. The redness is typically gone in 48 hours.

After the treatment, patients generally don’t feel any discomfort, although the treated area is likely to be sensitive, dry and tight. We instruct patients to using mild, gentle products and sunscreen after the treatment. Makeup can be applied the next day.
